Designed for Comfort, Built to Perform
Rover ride-on mowers combine practical engineering with user-friendly design. From wide cutting decks that reduce your mow time to cushioned seats and responsive steering, every feature is made to make mowing feel less like a chore. These mowers handle tight turns, bumpy paddocks and long runs with ease, ideal for acreages, lifestyle properties and larger home lawns.
Choose from hydrostatic or manual transmissions depending on your preference, and enjoy added touches like cruise control, cup holders and easy-access fuel tanks. With solid steel frames and powerful engines, these machines are built to handle real Aussie conditions while keeping comfort front of mind.
What size ride-on mower do I need for a large property?
For properties over half an acre, a ride-on mower with at least a 38- to 42-inch cutting deck is recommended. If your block is larger or includes paddocks or sloped areas, a wider deck and a more powerful engine will reduce mowing time and effort. Consider terrain, obstacles and storage space when selecting your model.
Is a ride-on mower hard to maintain?
Ride-on mowers require regular maintenance, but it’s manageable with basic upkeep. Common tasks include checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening blades and inspecting belts and tyres. Many models also include built-in wash ports for easier deck cleaning. Keeping a regular service schedule helps prevent costly repairs and extends the life of the machine.
Can I mow on sloped terrain with a ride-on mower?
Most ride-on mowers can handle slight to moderate slopes. For steep or uneven terrain, look for models with low centres of gravity, wide tyres and strong traction. Always mow up and down the slope (not across it), and avoid wet or loose conditions that could affect stability. For hilly blocks, a zero-turn mower may offer better control.
